Slorder EP recorded!

This has been an awesome month! Slorder recorded a six song EP, which is the first recording I've done with the intention of releasing it since the Descendents did Cool To Be You in 2001. I had a blast doing it. I finished mixing last week, and Jason Livermore is going to master if for us. We're still trying to figure out what we're going to do with it label wise. There are a lot of options these days.  One of the new songs is posted on my MySpace page, and another on Slorder's MySpace page.

Also, ALL has signed on to play Riot Fest in Chicago, October 12th. This will be the first real show we've done in 5 years. I'm really excited. It's going mean a ton of practice, since I haven't played those songs in such a long time.

Both Slorder and 40Engine are also going to be doing shows this summer. We're playing at DFest, which is an excellent music conference/festival which goes on annually in Tulsa. The festival is on July 25th and 26th. We'll know exact venues and times in a couple of weeks, and we'll post them here.

Other than that, the studio's staying busy. I just finished mixing the First Lady Assassins (Tulsa), and I'm finishing up My Solstice's (Tulsa) disk this month.

Thanks for stopping in!

Slorder recording scheduled.

I'm super stoked! One of my music projects... called Slorder...  is going to do some recording. We've got about 5 days set aside in April to get some songs down. This is really exciting for me. I haven't recorded anything with the intention of releasing it since Descendents recorded "Cool To Be You" in 2001. We've got about 6 songs to do. It may take a while to get it mixed and we're not sure whether we'll wait and do more songs, or just release these for now. We'll figure it out when Bryan (bass) and Jay (drums) are here. I've also been making some more music with Jason Crowley, and Scott Reynolds and I are very close to having enough songs to start recording the 40Engine record, which I'm hoping to do in the next couple of months. Things are really busy at the studio too. I'm finishing up recordings for Tulsa bands My Solstice and First Lady Assassins, tracking drums for Your Final Thought, and vocals for Edinburgh.

Recording Hanson and friends.

I just spent 3 days recording Hanson, Jason Mraz, Stephen Kellogg, Pat McGee, Keaton Simons, and some other friends of theirs at Hanson's studio near Tulsa, OK. Every year, the guys from Hanson get together with some songwriter friends for about 4 days, and in groups of 2 to 4 people, they write a song and record it in about 4 hours. Between them, they cranked out 23 tunes in 4 days. Pretty awesome. I engineered the recordings in one of the studios and had a blast. There were some very talented folks there, which made recording a pleasure. Quite a change from the kind of music I usually record, but I had a great time doing it.

Slorder and 40Engine shows in Colorado.

I spent last weekend playing 3 shows in Colorado with Slorder, and 40Engine, supporting Drag The River. Scott Reynolds and the Steaming Beast played as well. The shows were fantastic! A special treat for me was playing a short set with ALL at the last show in Fort Collins. We haven't played together in 5 years, and we were pretty rusty, but had a great time none the less. Hopefully we'll do it again sometime. There are a few videos up on the video page if you're interested. Drag The River sounded fantastic, as did Scott Reynolds and the Steaming Beast. Scott's new record "Adventure Boy" is amazing, and well worth checking out, as is Drag The River's "You Can't Live This Way". Both are available on Suburban Home records.
